Livestock is doing well this winter in remote Tuvan districtsBy the early January, the expenditure of animal feeds was 1179 tons. 5027 tons are still available, which will allow the wintering to proceed without problems. By 10 February, representatives from reindeer-herding groups will be coming to the district center to participate in the annual holiday - festival of Todzha reindeer herders, as the zoo-technician of the farming administration, of Todzha, Oksana Lopsan announced.

In Mongun-Taiga district, this winter with very little snow allowed the herders to keep all the animals on pasture grazing, so that the stores of hay - 2049 tons, oats - 61 tons, and  90 tons of green fodder remain untouched.  Nevertheless, thinking of  last year's experience, when because of copious snowfall there was extensive livestock mortality, the administration of the district took care to purchase additional 10 tons of grain fodder. Beside that, there were contracts made for purchase of hay up to 25 tons from MUP "Chalaaty" and GUP "Torgalyg" of Ovyur district. 54 tons of salt was brought to sheep herding stations for salt-licks. District veterinarians have been doing rounds even to the most remote stations. Check-up showed that the condition of livestock is stable and the climatic-meteorological conditions are favorable for  the spring lambing season, which is expected at the end of February.
