National museums of Tuva and Khakassia are preparing a joint exhibition

A joint interregional project "National motifs in the art of Tuva and Khakassia", which is currently being worked on by Khakass and Tuvan national museums, will be the first action in the framework of Agreement about co-operation in the field of museum work, which h was signed during the visit of Khakass delegation to Republic Tyva in early March 2013.

The Agreement was signed in the conference hall of Tuvan National Museum by the directors Andrei Gotlib and Viktor Chigzhit, as Khakassia-Inform writes. During the conference, the parties evaluated the concept of future exhibition, and decided on the number of exhibits from each republic, which will represent art of two fraternal nations.

As the director of Khakass L. R. Kyzlasov National Museum, Andrei Gotlib stated, each museum will present equal number of museum exhibits, and in aggregate the exhibition will include 230 of the most vivid and expressive specimens from the collections of Khakass National Museum and Aldan-Maadyr National Museum.

The centerpiece of the exhibition will be a part of a yurt - the traditional dwelling of the nomads, with interior furnishings. Another section of the exhibition will be devoted to national attire: both male and female - tons (coats), hats, footwear, adornments, personal belongings, and much else will be on show in detail for visitors of the exhibition.

Various glass cases will hold samples of decorative-applied and stone-carving art, historical photographs, as well as works of contemporary photographers, telling the story of the people and nature of these regions.

Exhibition "National motifs in the art of Tuva and Khakassia" will be a part of the third international forum "Historical-Cultural heritage as a resource of sociocultural development", - Minister of Culture of Khakassia, Svetlana Okolnikova explained. Interregional exhibition project will stay at the Khakass National Museum for three months, and in September it will move to republic Tyva, as the press-service of Ministry of culture of Khakassia announced.
