Today, the first plenary session of the Legislative House of the Great Khural continued after a two day recess. It began with birthday congratulations for the 36 year old ex-speaker of the Supreme Khural Sholban Kara-ool, now one of the deputies of this new Khural. The deputies proceeded to elect their chief. Out of the "old" candidates remained Vasili Oiun, ex-vice-prime-minister of the Government. Anatoli Damba-Khuurak sent as his alternate Mikhail Kuular, ex-head of the alexistration of the Todzha district. But none of them received the necessary amount of the colleagues' votes of seventeen. Thus the election of the parliamentary head came to a standstill again. The deputies of the Legislative Chamber will discuss this question anew on July 24, the date of continuation.
