MTS Launches Network in Tyva

Russian mobile operator Mobile Telesystems (MTS) has launched a mobile network in Tyva. The Republic of Tyva is part of the Siberian Federal District, which has a population of 305,500 inhabitants, of which almost 1,400 are mobile users. Thus, the regional mobile penetration is 0.5 per cent. MTS will provide coverage to 50 per cent inhabitants in Kyzyl, the capital of the Republic, as well as in Kaa-Khem, Kok-Tei and Eerbek. The network equipment is produced by Huawei Technologies.

The Republic of Tyva is the seventy ninth Russian region to receive MTS’ network coverage.
