General Anatoli Kvashnin, ex-Russian Army chief of Staff, currently President's Representative in the Siberian region, has come to Tuva for a 3-days visit. The aim of this long-awaited trip is to find the future growth points of Tuva in order to turn a highly-donated Russian region into a self-financed one. Kvashnin is accompanied in this visit by a group of experts and high-ranking officials. Today he chaired a session at the House of Government in Kyzyl. As a military man he was quite straight. 'We will pull Tuva out of an economic crisis voluntarily and mandatorily' Kvashnin said looking eloquently at the gathered members of the Tuvan government.

Today he visited 'Handagaity' frontier check-point, in Oviur district. He spoke of the necessity to develop frontier trade with Mongolia.
