"Sayan Ring" Cycling Marathon Goes through Tuva

"Sayan Ring" traditional cycling marathon starts in Krasnoyarsk Friday. The route comprises towns and districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia and Tuva. 30 top sportsmen and veterans of cycling from five Siberian regions and the Republic of Kazakhstan will take part in the marathon. The routs is: Krasnoyarsk – Achinsk – Abakan – Kyzyl – Ak-Dovurak – Abakan – Krasnoyarsk. Participants of the cycling marathon will overcome about 2,500 kilometers.

"Sayan Ring" cycling marathon has been held since 2001. It is aimed at popularization of a healthy life style among young people, the development of cultural and sport relations between the regions. The cycling marathon is organized by the Krasnoyarsk Territory party branch of "United Russia" and Krasnoyarsk Cycling Federation.

The marathon will start solemnly at the Theater Square in Krasnoyarsk where it is scheduled to finish in twenty days. The marathon finishes on July 18. Vera Oskina, the permanent organizer and inspirer of the cycling race, who intends to improve her personal result in the difficult track, will join the cyclists in Kyzyl, the capital of Tuva.

A skill race will be held before the cycling marathon on June 28. It will take place on Krasnoyarsk's steepest hill – from Stepana Razina St. to the Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Chapel. The length of the track is 2 km only, however due to the slope, the track is referred to the most difficult ones. Everyone who would like to try oneself and compete with famous cyclists is welcome to start at 7.00 pm. The make of the bike does not matter.
