A visit to Chirgilchin's website brings the exciting announcement of a throatsinging camp to be held from August 13-26, 2007. CAMP in TUVA is being presented to twelve individuals from around the world, and will offer not only throatsinging master classes but offer exposure to many different cultural opportunities. "Two week program: August 13-26, 2007
Application deadline: April 5, 2007 or until enrollment fulfilled
For the first time the internationally acclaimed CHIRGILCHIN group will
invite a select group of 12 individuals from around the world to participate
in a study of Throat Singing ART and Tuvan Music in Tuva. In addition to
intensive classes with master artists/teachers, the program will include:
visits to Annual Naadym Celebrate, Shamanic ceremonies and sacred sites
as a medicine springs and temples; observations of a wide range of performances including Chirgilchin rehearsals; and daily encounters with the local artists and the community. This program is a rare opportunity for participants to be a part of one of the most vibrant and creative cultures in the world.
You will experience life in Tuvan family.
You will stay in the yurts, try simple national
cuisine and practice you Tuvan language."
