Tuvan fleute-player Khenzig-ool Kuzhuget detained in Italy over a murder attempt on his compatriot throat-singer Albert Ondar will be interrogated Wednesday, RIA Novosti reported Tuesday with the reference to Sergey Pirogov, press-officer of Russia's General Consulate in Milan.
According to Pirogov, police gave no details about the incident, yet confirming the fact.
"We have managed to talk to heads of Bergamo hospital, where the injured man is now. Doctors say they received the patient with a knife wound in his heart. He is reported as being in a grave condition. There is no risk to his life," the press-officer told. The Russians arrived in Italy from Tuva with a mixed folklore dancing group of different Tuvan ensembles to take part in "The Spirit of the Planet" international musical festival, Pirogov said. The festival was held in the northern cities of the Apennines from May 29 to June 11. The accident occurred in a small town of Nembro near Bergamo and not in the town of Alzano Lombardo, as an Italian news agency had informed. Representatives of Milan Consulate will meet with the arrested Tuvan man as soon as Italian police allows them to do it, Pirogov said. "We have already sent the corresponding requests about it," the press-officer stressed and added the situation was under control of the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in Milan.
On Monday Agr reported that a 33-year-old Russian was arrested over hurting his 37-year-old compatriot with a knife on his lung in a small northern town of Alzano Lombardo. The injured man was taken to Bergamo hospital, and the attacker is in jail in the town of Bergamo.
