Russian Culture Minister Alexander Sokolov promised to render assistance in construction of a new building for Tuvan Regional Study Museum. Dina Oyun, councilor of Sholban Kara-ool, head of Tuvan Republic, announced it. "It goes without saying that the museum needs a new building, and Ministry for Culture will try to do what it can to help to construct a new building", Dina Oyun quoted Sokolov as saying. On June 22 the minister visited the old museum building, where one tenth of the unique exhibits of the whole museum fund were exhibited only. It is necessary to complete construction of a new building which the minister promised to render assistance for. Oyun explained, "This building has already been under construction for 5 years."
The minister also visited "The Center of Asia" obelisk and met with Kyzyl cultural officials. After that Tuvan head Sholban Kara-ool and Alexander Sokolov flew to Tere-Kholsky District to visit Por-Bazhyn Fort to check out the course of excavations and determine the financing volume for the research of the unique historical monument.
