The group "Khorum-Dag" of Aldyn-Kherel Aldynay’s production house "Toolay", under the aegis of the Year of Khoomei, began its first theatrical tour, with direct support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tuva. Concerts will be presented in all districts of the republic. The lineup of the group includes the master throat-singer Anatoli Kuular, one of the founders of the world-famous group "Huun-Huur-Tu", the ensemble "Tuva", and also the official artist of the Republic of Tuva Titov Sanchat and honored visitor to Europe, America and Russia, the world-reknown shaman Nikolai Oorzhak.
The production house "Toolay" was created by the the partnership of Aldyn-Kherel Aldynay and Anatoli Kuular in 2004. In addition to concerts and producing, they work to preserve rare ancient national musical instruments, and also study the techniques of crafting these instruments.
They have already restored a fairly large quantity of rare musical instruments, such as the "igil", the "byzaanchy", the "kengire", the "dungur", the "amyra", the "shoor", the "chagadan", the "doshpuluur", and the "homus". Anatoli Kuular's work is not only linked to Tuvan national music; he has also collaborated with such greats of international music as Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder, and with the groups The Chieftains, Kronos Quartet, and Kodo. He always shares this rich background with young talented musicians.
