Tuva has an extremely rich historical heritage, which attracts tourists from the whole world, but some of archeological discoveries on Tuvan territory "literally overturned history". This is what the chairman of the government of Republic Tyva Sholban Kara-ool explained at a press-conference at ITAR-TASS, answering questions from journalists.
He presented data from research, according to which "three thousand years ago, on the territory of today's Tuva, there was a very high, and very technologically developed Scythian civilization. In 2001, 40 km from our capital Kyzyl, in Arzhaan, which became famous throughout the world as the Valley of Tsars, a joint Russian-German expedition discovered a burial of Scythian nobles, with artifacts dating to 8th-7th centuries before our era. When we were at school, we were taught that the cradle of Scythian civilization were areas around the Black Sea, and this is from where it spread. All the artifacts found in Tuva and Altai prove a different, Central-Asian origin of the Scythians. This was a sensational proof, and Mikhail Piotrovskiy called the Tuvan finds the greatest archeological discovery of 21st century.
Today, the exposition of gold jewelry, which stuns the imagination by filigree technique of Scythian goldsmiths, by the fineness of style and elegance of the lines attracts numerous aficionados of art and history from many parts of the world to the National Museum of the republic.
In the words of Sholban Kara-ool, there are more than enough promising tourist clusters on Tuvan territory.
It is still difficult fort he republic to become a Mecca of tourism for many reasons, the premier noted: "It is, first of all, the weak accessibility of transportation, including air connections."
At the same time, he added, during the Year of Tourism, as 2010 was declared in Russian Federation, many unique tourist centers have been established in Tuva as a result of government support, including the ethnocultural complex "Aldyn-Bulak". In its creation, the main emphasis is on the interior of the yurt - the unique history and culture of the republic. It is based on elements of the traditional Tuvan way of life, and the Scythian treasures, including pictures with images of this period.
