The first days of the expedition to evaluate population numbers of rare Altai mountain goat in the trans-border zone of Russia and Mongolia brought worrisome results. The specialists so far found only dead bodies, and have not seen a single live animal, as Mikhail Paltsyn, the leader of the group of experts in rare animal species protection of the “Preservation of biodiversity in the Russian part of Altai-Sayan eco-region” reported to RIA Novosti.

The Tandy and Chaa-Khol kozhuuns were the first ones to start work on the objects entered into the “Nine Treasures” project (Tos Ertine) involving the attractions of the republic. Today, residents of Chaa-Khol kozhuun will start cleaning up and arranging the area at the estuary of Chaa-Khol river, where a Buddhist niche stands carved into the Sume rock. This niche had always been a place of worship for the local population, and the goal of tourist pilgrimages. In the 90’s, this area fell into the zone of Sayano-Shusenskoe dam, and the niche ended up under the water.

Bai-Taiga entered Charash Dash into the “Tos Ertine” (Nine Treasures) contest. It is a natural wonder, something unusual, supernatural, as if created by a divine power, it is something astonishing, surprising in its originality. There is a small river, taking its origin in a waterfall. There, under water and on the shore, are scattered multicolored stones and pebbles which look like a woman, milking a cow; like a good man – Tuvan, riding a horse; like many tools and utensils of daily use among the arats – nomads, and like animals.

Members of the United Russia party, as part of the special project “Moya Pobeda” will renovate the old cemetery in the capital of the republic. Many veterans of the Front are buried there, and there is nobody to take care of their graves once their relatives die. The cemetery, which is in the center of the city, is showing signs of neglect. Here rests the dust of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Adyg-Tulush Baldanovich Kechil-ool, the legendary commander of Tuvan cavalry squadron, who liberated towns and villages of the Ukraine.

According to the research data of WWF, the conflict between the snow leopard and the residents of Western Tuva remains active. The leopards are in danger of getting shot by the herdsmen in revenge for attacks on domestic livestock. WWF continues to actively work with the herdsmen. The conflict between irbis and people originated when the local shepherds took their herds to graze in areas where this predator lives, and the normal population density of hoofed animals dropped off because of poaching.

Today, at the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War, the exhibition “People's Republic of Tuva – Everything for common Victory!” opens in Moscow, and will remain open until the end of the anniversary year. The exhibition is organized in the framework of special projects “Moya Pobeda” (My Victory) of the Tuvan government, and “Geography of Victory” of the federal patriotic museum at Poklonnaya Gora. This exposition throws light on one of the “blank pages” in the history of WWII. It tells of the contributions into the Victory by a practically unknown ally of the USSR – People's Republic of Tuva. “For us, this exhibition is a milestone, - says the head of Tuva, Sholban Kara-ool. – There is a tremendous international-patriotic potential in it. It is an opportunity to present an objective historical evaluation of Tuva’s participation in the WWII, and to emphasize the proportionate result of the friendship consolidated during the brutal war years – in 1944, Tuva entered the large family of the nations of Russia.”
