"Sayan Ring" Cycling Marathon Goes through Tuva

"Sayan Ring" traditional cycling marathon starts in Krasnoyarsk Friday. The route comprises towns and districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia and Tuva. 30 top sportsmen and veterans of cycling from five Siberian regions and the Republic of Kazakhstan will take part in the marathon. The routs is: Krasnoyarsk – Achinsk – Abakan – Kyzyl – Ak-Dovurak – Abakan – Krasnoyarsk. Participants of the cycling marathon will overcome about 2,500 kilometers.

Tuvan Wrestler Winner at the International Tournament

The winner of 120 kg category iin the Third All-Russian Freestyle Wrestling Tournament for the prizes of Buvaisar Saitiev, two-time Olympic champion, is Soyan Sonam from Tuva. Tuvan wrestlers used to be in the lead in the light categories and this victory came as a surprise.Krasnoyarsk wrestlers have won three golden medals. Andrei Maltsev and Stepan Yeremeyev took the first places in the weight categories of 100 and 58 kg. Vusal Mustafaev of Azerbaijan and Tomur Oorzhak of the Republic of Tuva were second respectively.

Tuvan Renowned Wrestler Won a Car

Victory Day in Tuva started with a military parade along the Lenin street, the main street in Kyzyl. On a tribune greeting the passing by rows were Members of the Tuvan government, parliament, mayor and 75 war veterans. The parade was followed by marching in columns schoolchildren. Then the action place moved to the Khuresh stadium, which was overcrowded.

Tuva's Head Blame Oorzhak's Coach for Road Accident

The coach of wrestler Lorisa Oorzhak is to blame for the tragedy that happened to her, head of the Republic of Tuva Sholban Kara-ool said. He stated it at the press conference April 25, the republican government's press service reported. The chairman said the accident had happened "due to irresponsibility of her coach who took her to unplanned Nazarovo's competitions instead of sending the girl home to Tuva after European Championship, for the sake of his self-interest."

Chief of surgical department of Achinsk Central District Hospital Yury Goncharov informed Ves Sport agency about the state of the girl. "Lorisa was moved to our surgical department in the morning," he said, "She is in the common ward. Visitors are allowed. There are her relatives and coach there now. Lorisa Oorzhak is conscious. She is reported as being in a stable condition.

Tuvan Wrestler Lorisa Oorjak Europe's Champion!

Tuvan female wrestler Lorisa Oorjak, 21, performing in the lightest weight category - 48 kg, brought the third gold medal to Russian national team at the European Championships in Sofia. Russian women team totalling 65 points - 4 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals - won the first place in the team competition. Second is the team of Ukraine with 50 points, third – Germany with 39.
Fresh after the last combat Lorisa Oorjak said: 'I am very exited and it was hard for me to give a meaning to what I have done. I was prepared for a gold medal despite the knee injure I had before the competition.

Olympics for Physically Handicapped People in Tuva

Sports events for disabled people in Tuva took place in Kyzyl. The Olympic program included arm-wrestling, darts, table-tennis, chess, checkers, and wheelchair races. Over 80 sportsmen representing the Tuvan House for Disabled People, The Society of Blind People, School for Deaf Children, and schools for children with physical and mental disablities have taken part in the event.

Trauma Causes Russia's Champion Tuvan Wrestler to Not Participate in World Championship

Lorisa Oorzhak, Tuva The World Greco-Roman, Freestyle, and Women's Wrestling Championship is to take place in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, on September 25-30. Tuvan female wrestler Lorisa Oorzhak will not be able to participate there due to an injury, as IA Tuva Online reported.

Russia will be represented in the weight category of 48 kg by Inga Karamchakova (Khakassia), Alexandr Zverkov, the women's wrestling department chief of the Wrestling Federation reported.

A khuresh wrestling tournament among 64 young wrestlers, aged from 16 to 28, devoted to City Day was held in the stadium in the capital city of Tuva, Kyzyl. Khuresh wrestler Andrei Khertek from Sut-Khol district defeated today Angyr Kuular from Oviur in the final . The third place went to Ai-Demir Mongush, nephew of the famous wrestler Ayas Mongush. Naiyr Konga came in fourth.

Tuvan Wrestler Bronze Medal Winner in European Sumo Championship

Courtesy of Uwe Paelser, Riesa Kan-Demir Kuular, famous Tuvan wrestler and Russian sumo champion in 2006 (under 85 kg), has come third in the European Sumo Championship, which has just finished in Riesa, Germany. Another Tuvan, Adar Kuular, was a championship referee.

In the present championship, already Riesa’s 4th European Sumo-Wrestling Championship, a total of 110 athletes from 15 European nations have taken part, 69 men and 41 women. The dominating wrestlers were, as usual, from the Russian Federation, whose athletes, especially their women, have garnered most of the medals.
