Tuva will join anti-tobacco action which will take place in the republic at the initiative of  Ministry of health care of RF on the International day without tobacco - 31 May. The Ministry of health care of RT acts as the organizer of the action in the republic, preparing a plan for the event. On this day, prophylactic booklets and leaflets will be distributed in Tuvan capital, demonstration of specimens of anti-tobacco theme from the health and hygiene museum of the center for preventative medical care. Volunteer schoolchildren will perform a mini-action "Break a cigarette for a candy".

Passports, clothing, instruments  - famous Tuvan group "Alash",  currently on tour in the USA as part of the "Festival of Asian Cultures" - lost everything in one moment. Saturday night, the group stopped for the night at Motel 6 on Cesar Chavez Avenue. When they woke up in the morning, they discovered that their temporary residence was visited by robbers.

"The windows were open wide, all the instruments were taken; the thieves took some of their luggage, so that some of the musicians now have absolutely nothing to wear, and our concert costumes also disappeared,"  - says Sean Quirk, the group's manager.

On 17 May, masses and prayers will be performed in all the temples of Tuva, associated with the celebration of Day of Three Feats of Buddha Shakyamuni. As the abbot of the main "Tsechenling" temple, Tenzin Chimba (Buyan Bashki) informed the Savetibet.ru portal, this year Buddhist clergy turned to Tuvan Buddhists with a special request to dedicate this day to performing good deeds. Beside that,  Buddhist monks and priests, who are members of the Buddhist association of Tuva, proposed to the residents of the republic to renounce eating of meat on this day.

The expedition, dedicated to the 2200 Anniversary of  the foundation of the Hsiung-nu Empire, will take place from May 28 to June 30 on the territory of Buryatia, Mongolia, Tyva, Krasnoyarsk Krai and Khakassia, as announced by the press-service of the Ministry of Culture of Buryatia.

"This event will take place with the support of the Federal Agency for culture and cinematography of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Ministry of education and culture of Mongolia, - the site states.

Premier of Tuva Sholban Kara-ool congratulated his compatriots to the Day of the Victory. "The salutes of victory of May 1945 are receding further into the past, but the memory of the past war, the feats of the older generations is not subject to time, - the greeting speech states. - Our common debt is to be worthy of continuing the work of the victorious heroes, to increase the greatness of Russia with our work and talents, to put down a foundation for the flowering of our small native country - Tuva. Our successes in this direction will become the best memorial to the Victory, confirmation of our deepest respect and gratitude to those who performed an immortal feat in the name of securing this goal."

International exhibition "Traditions of folk art of Mongolia" opened at the National Museum of Tuva on 29 April. The exposition shows women's and men's jewelry,, made in the traditional way of Mongolian masters of the jewelry art. They represent a concentration of the heritage of the multifaceted and unique Mongolian culture.

On the initiative and with the support of the WWF of the "Ubsunur depression" nature preserve, more than five hundred schoolchildren and teachers became the participants of a beautiful holiday, dedicated to the irbis.

On 21-24 April, schoolchildren and teachers of the Erzin, Bai-Taiga and Mongun-Taiga kozhuuns (districts) - the main areas of irbis habitat - became the participants of a festival "Day of the snow leopard".

The holiday devoted to the preservation of the exceptionally rare species of animal is a unique event in Siberia. The closest region where a similar event takes place is in Primorie (Maritime Pacific region), which is the habitat of very rare Far East leopard and the Amur tiger. In April of this year, Tuva opened the season of this "feline" holiday for the first time.

As part of  the "Yagel-fest" festival, a real Tuvan shaman Nikolai Oorzhak came to Murmansk, together with his ensemble "Un-Khun". There were not many of those wishing to hear his healing chants, but those who did come had no regrets about wasted time.

-  I used to be a herder at first, then I wrote slogans - one had to support the party personally, - Nikolai starts the story about his gift.

During Soviet times, really, one could not even think about this type of healing, and Nikolai had not been aware of having any such abilities. He worked at the National Theatre in Tuva, where he often met with masters of throat-singing - khoomei. The unique aspect of this art is that the performes produces two notes simultaneously, that is, he sings in two voices. There are many types of khoomei.

The entire world of Orthodox Christianity is celebrating  the Bright resurrection of Christ - Easter. In Kyzyl, traditionally, the believers first attend all-night services at the Holy Trinity church. Easter, the day of  the miraculous resurrection of  Christ, is the culmination of the seven days of mourning - a week of remembrance of  Christ's Way of the Cross. Every day of the Passion week has its own  symbolic significance, and it is observed differently. There are church services every day.
