Kyzyl Election Comission decided to recalculate votes in spite of the fact that the three day term to announce official election results in the capital has been already bypassed. Life Party leaders are sure that this decision is made in favour of United Russia which has lost in five out of six one-seat Legislative Chamber constituencies to the Life party candidates. Yesterday the Kyzyl Election Comission declared that the results in four Kyzyl constituencies, in which Life Party candidates have won, are invalid.
Vasili Oyun, Life Party list leader, applied to the Tuvan Prosecutor's office stating that Vice Prime Minister Alexandr Brokert over the nights from October 13 to 14 came to the Kyzyl Election Commission and urged to submit the voter's lists which he took with himself.
It should be noted that Legislative Chamber of the Great Khural working on a professional basis consists of thrity-two deputies, half of which were elected from party lists (United Russia - 46%, Life Party - 32%) and the other part from sixteen one-seat constituencies. Life Party members won in majority of one-seat-constituencies and more impressively in Kyzyl - in five out of six. But Kyzyl results are questioned by United Russia which says that the turn-out at Kyzyl polls have not overcome the needed 33%.
