Abandoning children becomes more often in Kyzyl, the capital of Tuva, State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company "Tyva" reported. Three small abandoned children were found in Kyzyl streets on one day last week.
The first telephone call was received by police in the afternoon on October, 12. A child was found near the orphanage in Suvorova St. by teachers. It emerged that 18-month-old Ulzana Shyyrap had been taken to the children's home by her mother.

The Republic of Tuva (Tyva) is situated in the central part of the Asian continent bounded by Eastern Siberia on the north, Mongolia on the south and east, Irkutsk Region on the northeast, the Buryat Republic on the east, and the Altai Republic on the west. The republic is far from both the warm Atlantic and Pacific oceans and the Arctic Ocean. Four time zones separate Tuva from Moscow and five separate it from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on the east coast.

On October 5 Tuvan militia detained a 38-year-old suspect, an ex-criminal, for raping a 5-year-old girl and drowning her and her 3-year-old brother in the Uyuk river.
Artem and Dayana Baikara were reported missing on September 30. The mall childrens bodies were found drowned in the Uyuk river on October 2.

A court martial in southern Siberia has sentenced Sergeant Rolan Khertek from Tuva to 14 years in a maximum-security penal colony for murdering a private in 2005, a court official said Thursday.
According to the investigation, on August 16 2005, Rolan Khertek, in charge of a platoon, became enraged after Private Maxim Lyakhovsky refused to obey an order he considered to be illegal.

Two small children from the Uyuk village (Pii-Khem district, Tuva) - Artem, 3, and Dayana Baikara, 5, - have been missing since Saturday. They left home at noon and have not come by the evening. Their grandmother with whom the children were left, as their mother went to Kyzyl to visit her elder daughter, reported it to the local police station. The boy and the girl were first looked for by local militia and on Sunday a Rescue brigade from Kyzyl joined in.

One of the most-known Tuvans in Russia, Federal Emergency and Civil Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, came to Tuva for a two day visit. He chaired a session in Kyzyl devoted to the implementation of the Agreement of cooperation between the Emergency Ministry of Russia and Government of Tuva. Its participants discussed security problems, the efficiency of local rescue brigade work, and neccessary assistance to the rescue service from the executive power of Tuva.

A mother abandoned her one and a half year-old daughter in Kyzyl, the capital of Tuva. A woman with child in hand appealed to Kyzyl police, as State TV and Radio Company "Tyva" reports. According to the Kyzyl resident, an unknown woman came up to her near the city bus terminal and asked to look after her daughter for a moment. When no one returned to take the child back, the woman reported to the police.

A year ago, for the first time in Tuvan history, someone let the public at large know of its existence with an announcement in the Tuva-Online guestbook. The effect was Earth shatteringly controversial. The posting declared publicly that there are gays in Tuva, and they are even divided into different interest groups.

Artur Mongush, a Tuvan pilot who died in a helicopter crash in Kemerovo region, was buried in his hometown of Kyzyl. His funeral was organised by his former colleagues from the Tuvan Airlines detachment.
He was very happy a year ago to know that following his application for a job in a huge coal-mining enterprise 'Yuzh-Kuzbass-ugol' in the Kemerovo region, he was given a job with a stable and good income.
